My name is Diana Martinez San Luis. I’m 22 years old and I’m from a Mixtec area called “Pinotepa de Don Luis”. I’m the youngest of four siblings. I was born in a non-Christian family and in an environment of violence. I grew up with a root of rejection by society, inferiority, lack of identity, bullying at school and suicidal thoughts. I was looking for acceptance in other people. Having bad friendships, I started to see artists as my refuge and idols. I clung so much to a life without meaning and without a purpose.
I worked hard in my studies, I got good grades, and I got a lot of academic recognition, but my soul felt so empty. I began to have anxiety attacks, depression, violent behavior, and my academic performance dropped. I was also dissatisfied with my body. In 2015 I fell into a severe depression after the death of my best friend. The guilt was so strong that in that same year I tried to commit suicide for the first time.
During the pandemic of 2020 the Lord was already speaking to my heart, but I rejected Him. In September of that same year my mom became seriously ill with Covid-19. I remembered that God is Almighty, so I cried out for my mom’s health, and she was healed. In December 2021, I gave my life to the Lord and together with my parents we began attending a church. It was at the beginning of 2022 that God put in my heart to study the Bible School.
In August of that same year, I began to study the Bible School. With conviction I was baptized in water and months later I received the baptism in the Spirit. Quickly the Holy Spirit began to reveal to me areas of my life that I needed to surrender to Him and receive healing. I can safely say that this decision was the best decision I could have made in my entire life. I am now in my second year of Bible School, completely in love with Jesus who has saved me. But most of all grateful for the miracle in my family.
